Santa Agueda in Alsasua.

 

The Santa Agueda is celebrated throughout the Spanish Basque Country.

The festivities in Alsasua, Navarre, are however known to be the most typical. It honours the “quintos”, the young people who celebrate their 18th birthday.

 

On the eve of Santa Agueda, the girls go out into the streets singing.

On the day of Santa Agueda in the morning, Quintos and Quintas make the quest for the feast. In the evening around 8pm, they dance in the square.

 

Place: Alsasua, Navarre.

Date: February 4 and 5, 2020.

Type: traditional dance, parade, outdoor activities.
